Nebraska Signee Kahmir Prescott Talks Huskers Decision and Expectations
Three-star athlete from Philadelphia sees himself as a 'hard-nose safety who can cover sideline to sideline'
The Nebraska Cornhuskers had a very successful class in the 2024 football recruiting cycle. The group was headlined by No. 1 prospect Dylan Raiola. Although quarterback Raiola is a big name, there are many players who are key to this class, and one of them is Kahmir Prescott.
Prescott was a three-star safety from Neumann Goretti High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has a 6-foot-1 191-pound frame.
Prescott spoke with HuskerMax about his future transition in Lincoln and his overall decision.
“What made Nebraska the right choice is because of the culture the school has and that the coaching staff really believes in my skills and cares about me and my well-being,” Prescott stated. “I'm very happy with my decision to join Nebraska!”
The talented safety has high expectations for himself and has set a high standard.
“My expectation is to be heavily in the rotation and if the opportunity presents itself to be a freshman All-American.”
“I plan to bring Nebraska a hard-nose safety who can cover sideline to sideline and is not scared to tackle with a lot of speed.”
“I'm looking to connect with Coach Coop the most," Prescott said, referring to Nebraska defensive backs coach Evan Cooper. "He is the guy I feel like I relate with the most and have the best connection with.”
He was asked if there is anyone in particular he looks forward to learning under.
“Personally I look forward to learning under coach Coop and (head coach) Matt Rhule," he said. "I can't wait to see how Matt Rhule coaches and how he leads his team day in and day out.”
